It will make the printer go crazy sometimes and run the print head lower than the bed and then try to move the bed and or run the print head into the bed in the middle and not stop and gears grinding and noises galore. I would really love to get Repetier Host running since I can monitor it remotely and I don't have to move the SD card constantly. But anything else I try print that I download, most of the time fails. I've opened one of the included files on the SD card into Cura and saved the profile. If I print something from Thingiverse, it will print correctly only OCCASIONALLY. If I print something from the included SD card, it will print correctly MOST OF THE TIME. Instead of making that post any bigger I wanted to seperate the question about config files. The config file mentioned in the video would be the config used to compile your own version of the firmware, which you will need to flash using an AVR programmer.I'm having nothing but problems printing that I detailed in another post. The auto stuff prevents new guys from learning the basics of bed leveling. Quite honestly the " auto bed tramming leveling tilt compensation" is a lazy way to allow the bed to not be level - yes, it takes a while to level the bed the first few times, but after a while you will get better and it will be quicker and less frequent. Use the Di3 as it is like most people in the group. Replace the main board, at your own expense, with a better board load custom firmware on the board and add the Bed Level compensation part.Ģ. It have been discussed quite a lot before, but it comes down to 2 options:ġ. The stock setup of the Di3 makes use of all available pins on the board and as such there is not place to add any extra features (this board is easy to build, tested and very cheap - the reason for the good price on the printer). The Di3 makes use of an open board design called the Meltzi. James, you are right, the Repetier Host is good for slicing - I was thinking about the ReplicatorG for which that statement would be valid. There may be more, but this is sufficient for now. 3D Prima Wanhao Duplicator 4S 3D Printer In Metal Frame Black Case Dual Extruder. The Sailfish fix this issue by requiring files to first be encoded through GPX to a binary format which includes the actual steps each motor should do (very basic explanation) in stead of a distance it should move (which then need to be converted by the printer). They are based on Makerbot's printers (just an Asian Clone), which utilized an older micro processor, which can easily be overloaded decoding gcode while controlling the motors, heaters etc.Ģ. #Repetier server and wanhao duplicator 4s seriesThe reasons Sailfish is used on the D4S series (which is an older series), are:ġ. The downside to not having it, is that if you want to flash new firmware, you will need an AVR programmer (which cost a few $ for a basic one). A while ago there was a thread here about the procedure to add a bootloader, and the pros vs cons of having it - bottom line: for most people it is not worth having it. Since it does not have a bootloader, the connection will not be accepted to flash firmware (the actual firmware is already loading). CAUTION: If opening the WANHAO Duplicator 4/4x for service, ensure that the power supply is turned off and the cord is disconnected. WARNNING: Do not leave the WANHAO Duplicator 4/4x unattended during operation. Always allow the WANHAO Duplicator 4/4x to cool down before reaching inside. This is a very basic firmware which allows flashing a new version of compatible firmware to the printer (it delays the start of the actual firmware, checks for a flash connection, if found allows flashing otherwise continue boot the firmware). Duplicator 4/4x while it is in operation. #Repetier server and wanhao duplicator 4s manualThe Sailfish manual is a good read for every 3D printer owner, just note that with other firmware there may be a few changes or things that will not work. When following instructions, make sure for which printer they were written. There are however someone in this group that have designed a Sailfish compatible main board for the Di3 series, and shipping of pre-orders should start within the next day or so. The Di3 series makes use of Repetier based firmware.Īs such running Sailfish on a stock Di3 is not possible. The stock D5 series have some other firmware, their alternative firmware is Marlin based. The D4 series (4, 4X, 4S) makes use of the Sailfish firmware Every Wanhao printer's firmware is based on an other firmware project:
